Blog 5: My future job

Hi everyone! Today I'm going to talk about my hypothetical future job. I really haven't thought so much about my future job because I'm present-focused, but considering my interests I think that a job I would like to have (maybe in a very idealistic way) is to work as a cultural manager organizing social, art and cultural events. This could be either outdoors and indoors or both, depending on the event. I would like to do this because I'm really into arts and its sociopolitical and cultural relevance. As a pianist, I have had the opportunity to play in diverse events and I enjoy that a lot, so this job could also give me the opportunity to play music occasionally in these events.

Depending on the event focus and planning, this could also allow me to travel, but I would like to do this in Chile because I think Chile has great artists, an important heritage of art reflecting the social times and a tremendous artistic potential.

My two older brothers are artists so I know what means to work in the art business, economically speaking. Therefore, my salary expectations are really basic.

As I'm studying anthropology I really expect to develop this relationship between cultural identity, arts and sociopolitical issues so I can work in this area.
